Escapement course KHWCC

This course will focus on the study of the Swiss lever escapement to service and repair them.

Including: 

• Adjusting the escapement for function, safety and performance
• Adjusting divisions and endshakes of the escapement parts
• Bankings or banking pins influence and adjusting guardpin and horn clearance
• Pallet jewel adjustments; -checking of drop, run to the banking and total locks
• Replacing damaged pallet staffs and pallet jewels
• Shellacking of pallet jewels
• Analyzing faults in the escapement
  
  
  
  

The necessary theory to understand the workings of the Swiss lever escapement as well as the adjustments effect will be part of the course.

Pre-requisites: Watchmaker and watch service technician having experience from working on mechanical watches in a work environment. It is recommended to bring your own escapement tools such as an escapemeter if available, and personal hand tools such as screwdrivers, tweezer and eyeglasses.
