As one week is very short for a hairspring course, we will be emphasizing on the correct steps in the right order and try out all of them, however, to become fluent at hairspring work, the participant needs to practice this art after the course.
The program includes the following try outs, as well as the necessary theory;
- how to replace broken hairsprings in vintage and antique watches
- all the steps involved in taking a raw hairspring, vibrating it to the correct frequency and making it run in the movement.

- Pinning-up hairspring to the collet.
- Vibrating to the correct frequency.
- 2nd pinning point, with practicing truing hairspring in the flat and round around the collet.
- Forming the regulating curve and the double bend.
- Studding-up to the bridge.
- Adjusting hairspring flat and centred under the bridge and centring of hairspring between the regulating pins as well as final adjustments to the regulating curve.
- Putting balance and hairspring in beat.
- Timing.
